Signing Up and Getting Started in Horizon NJ Health

To become a Horizon NJ Health member, contact the NJ State Health Benefits Coordinator (HBC) toll-free at 1-800-701-0710. Hearing-impaired persons may call the State's TDD/TTY toll-free number at 1-800-701-0720. Membership is subject to the approval of the Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services (DMAHS). It will take about 30 to 45 days for the membership to take effect.

Persons applying for membership will continue receiving their health care services using their current health insurance coverage until the State approves their membership. For services applicants were receiving with their previous insurer, Horizon NJ Health will coordinate their care when their membership becomes effective.
