A flu shot is the best way to make sure you do not get the flu.

Flu and pneumonia shots are good for all Horizon NJ Health members when the doctor feels you really need them.

What most people call the flu is actually influenza, a viral infection. The flu virus attacks the lungs and can cause severe chills, fever, aching, general weakness and may even make you not want to eat.

If you have certain high-risk health problems, you have a higher risk for problems from the flu.

Remember to protect your baby from the flu. People who care for babies 6 months old and younger also need to get the flu shot.

Flu season begins in November and can last until April. Before the flu catches you, call your PCP today to schedule your flu shot.
