Founded in 1972 by 10 Newark families with the goal of organizing a grassroots community-centered entity to foster the social, cultural, political and economic empowerment of Newark’s marginalized communities, La Casa de Don Pedro has emerged as one of the largest and most comprehensive social service and community development organizations in New Jersey. Through community engagement, La Casa fosters self-sufficiency and community revitalization.

The organization offers a broad range of services that impact youth, adults and families throughout Newark and beyond. Their comprehensive programs educate participants and encourage them to use internal and external services to help improve the quality of life for themselves and their families.  

La Casa de Don Pedro has eight locations throughout Newark that offer programs in these areas:
